Free ASL Resources

Learning American Sign Language can feel both exciting and overwhelming—but you don’t have to do it alone. This page brings together a variety of helpful (and mostly free) ASL resources to support your journey, whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list—think of it more like a curated starting point.

To be fully transparent, I have no direct affiliation with the apps, podcasts, or videos listed here, these are simply resources I’ve found helpful or that others in the community have recommend. The only exception is that some links to Amazon are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission (at no extra cost to you) if you decide to purchase. It’s a simple way to support this work while keeping the majority of these resources free and accessible for all learners.

In addition to the resources listed below, you are also welcome to take advantage of our free weekly ASL group practice sessions, check out the 6 Steps to Sign Language Fluency guide, or check out my latest articles and videos.

Overall, the goal is simple: to give you clear, accessible, and encouraging tools to help you build confidence, connect with others, and take consistent steps toward ASL fluency.

So take a look through the resources below, and start wherever feels easiest for you.

Other Resources

These are just some resources that I've gathered that can help you get started with learning ASL. What resources have you personally found helpful in learning ASL? Let me know and I’d be happy to add them to the list.

Just remember, no matter where you are on your ASL journey, progress comes through small, steady steps. Each new sign you learn, every conversation you attempt, and every practice session you join is a building block toward fluency.

My hope is that these resources make the process feel less intimidating and more inspiring, so you can enjoy learning ASL while connecting with a vibrant and supportive community.
